| Signa (Sig.) | The recommended dose is strictly followed unless otherwise directed by the physician. Dosage The dose is adjusted according to the patient's tolerance to the drug and the desired effect. Ramipril is usually taken on a long-term basis; the physician individually determines the treatment period for each patient. Treatment of hypertension The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg per day. Depending on the drug response, the dose can be increased. Double doses should be administered in increments of 2-3 weeks. The maintenance dose is usually 2.5-5 mg daily and the highest daily dose is 10 mg. Treatment of stagnation heart failure The recommended daily starting dose is 1.25 mg, depending on the drug reaction, and the dose can be increased. Each increment should be double dose, 1-2 weeks apart. The highest daily dose is 10 mg. If the daily requirement is equal to or more than 2.5 mg, it can be taken once or twice. Treatment after myocardial infarction The recommended daily starting dose is 5mg, taken in 2 divided doses, 2.5mg each time, one each in the morning and evening. If this dose cannot be tolerated, the first 2 days should be taken twice a day, 1.25mg each time. Depending on the drug response, the dose can be increased, and each dose should be administered in double doses, 1-3 days apart. If the treatment improves the condition, the daily dose can be taken in a single dose. The highest daily dose is 10 mg. There is still insufficient experience in the treatment of severe heart failure (NYHA IV) immediately after myocardial infarction. If treatment is given, it should start at 1.25 mg daily, and special attention should be paid when increasing the dose. Prevention of myocardial infarction, stroke or cardiovascular death The recommended daily starting dose is 2.5 mg, depending on the patient's tolerance, and the dose can be gradually increased. The dose should be doubled after one week. After three weeks, it should be multiplied to a general maintenance dose of 10 mg. usage Ramipril's lozenges should be swallowed in a sufficient amount (about half a cup), not to be crushed, and can be taken before, during or after meals. |
